Our attorneys at The Kalka Law Group were recently busy grilling up some hot dogs and hamburgers for a good cause\u2014they were helping Shepherd Center put on a BBQ event for the hospital’s patients and their families. Our\u00a0Atlanta personal injury lawyers<\/strong>\u00a0purchased food for the event, helped cook the food and helped serve it so that they could benefit others in their community. The event, which is held multiple times a year, is designed to give the patients at Shepherd Center an opportunity to have food other than what they are normally served at the hospital. Shepherd Center is a not-for profit, private hospital in Atlanta that is known for specializing in treatment and rehabilitation for spinal cord injury victims<\/a> and brain injury victims.<\/p>\n

Shepherd Center (which was established in 1975) has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as being among the top 10 rehabilitation hospitals in the country. The facility has 152 beds, and last year it had 965 inpatient program admissions and 571 day patient program admissions. Each year, Shepherd Center provides care for more than 6,600 people on an outpatient basis. The hospital’s website notes that it takes a team approach in helping patients through the rehabilitation process and in helping them learn new ways of life.<\/p>\n
