Driver Being Investigated After Crashing Bus While Under the Influence of Drugs<\/h3>\n

On the morning of Friday, March 2, 2018, a bus carrying 13 members of the West Georgia Technical College women\u2019s basketball team crashed in Pulaski County.<\/p>\n

The team was travelling to Rockville, Maryland to play against Montgomery College in the NJCAA Division III District Championship. At approximately 8:15 a.m. that morning, the driver allowed the bus to drift over into another lane, colliding with an 18-wheeler. Then, the driver ran the bus off the side of the road, overcorrected, then hit an embankment and flipped over.<\/p>\n

According to a\u00a0report by WSET<\/a>, all 13 passengers were hurt in the crash, but there have been no casualties. However, all passengers<\/a> were treated at Radford Hospital for various injuries and the championship game scheduled for March 4 was cancelled.<\/p>\n

The bus driver is currently under investigation by Virginia State Police. He is currently being charged with driving under the influence of drugs, as well as marijuana possession.<\/p>\n
