A decade ago, Toyota recalled nine million vehicles due to a problem with the floor mat becoming lodged under the cars’ accelerator pedal. As a result, the gas pedal would stick, causing the possibility of serious crashes. Over 60 cases were reported, with 30 resulting in at least 1 death.
2014 – 2018 Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ
Another occurrence from last year, over a million Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZ vehicles model years 2014 to 2018 were recalled due to a loosened steering-wheel bolt. The bolt could potentially lead to the steering wheel becoming detached from the vehicle.
